1. Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the Sausage:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
- Add the sausage, breaking it into crumbles with a spatula or wooden spoon.
- Cook the sausage until it’s browned and cooked through.
- Remove the cooked sausage from the skillet and set it aside.
3. Saute Onion and Garlic:
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic.
- Saute for about 2 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
4. Prepare the Casserole Dish:
- Grease a 9×13-inch (23×33 cm) baking dish.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish.
5. Add Sausage and Green Beans:
- Spread the cooked sausage over the potatoes.
- Arrange the green bean pieces on top of the sausage.

- Add the remaining potato slices over the green beans.
- Season the layers with dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
7. Mix Broth and Cream:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken broth and heavy cream.
- Pour this mixture evenly over the casserole.
8. Top with Cheese:
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top of the casserole.
9. Bake:
- Cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
10. Uncover and Continue Baking: – Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is golden and bubbly.
11. Garnish and Serve: – If desired, garnish the Sausage Green Bean Potato Casserole with fresh parsley before serving.
