Save 30 euros per month: the plumbers’ tip to reduce your electricity bill

Start by attaching a survival blanket, silver side up, to the hot water tank with duct tape. Cover this survival blanket with bubble wrap (make it two layers of bubble wrap for more efficiency), then add the second survival blanket, again with the silver side facing the tank. Tie it all together tightly with wire. How will this system retain heat? The silver side of the survival blanket will reflect the heat, helping to keep you warm inside the hot water tank.
Even simpler, and not much more expensive, you can also install hot water insulation film and stakes around your tank in the same way, which you can easily find at a home improvement store. It costs around 50 euros, but will be repaid very quickly because it can save you up to 5 kWh per day, or a little over one euro per day based on the regulated price of electricity including tax in October 2023 in the BASE option (price of 1 kWh EDF: 0.2276 € / kWh), or up to around 30 euros per month in the middle of winter, or between 100 and 150 euros. It is a simple and quick saving to make.
