In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well-mixed.
Form the beef mixture into four equal patties and set them aside.
Preheat your grill or grilling pan to medium-high heat, and also heat the broiler to medium-high.
Place the split hamburger buns on a baking sheet and toast them under the broiler until golden brown. Remove the tops of the buns and set them aside.
Grill each beef patty for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked to your preferred level of doneness.
While grilling the patties, gently heat the pizza sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally.
Once the sauce is warmed, spread half of it onto the bottom halves of the toasted buns.
Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, then top with half of the pepperoni slices.
Place the buns with cheese and pepperoni under the broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
Place a grilled beef patty on top of each prepared bottom bun half, then top with the remaining pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni slices.
Broil again until the additional cheese is melted and bubbly.
Finish by placing the tops of the buns over each burger and serve hot.
